Meet Mindful Men…our flagship population service.
The National Institute of Health and other well established community health research findings continuously indicate that men are less likely to access, and also to benefit from, mental health and/or counseling services. Initial research suggests that role models and friends are one of the key interventions that improve men’s help-seeking attitudes, intentions, and actual actions. These peer figures often convey accurate information and key psychoeducational material, and often motivate men to persist in behavior change efforts and build on positive “male” traits (e.g. responsibility, direction and strength). Our Mindful Men Training prepares men in the community with the knowledge, tools and skills to become this type of mentor and friend to their peers, neighbors and family.
Mindful Men designs ready to execute service events for small groups of men in your local community. We believe that local, nonprofessional interactions between men are the foundation for bringing more wellness, trust and shared responsibility to our communities.
